Gavilon buying 16 grain elevators in Washington
Gavilon Grain is buying Union Elevator and Warehouse Co. and adding 16 grain elevators in the Pacific Northwest to its network of grain storage facilities.

Gavilon Grain is buying Union Elevator and Warehouse Co. and adding 16 grain elevators in the Pacific Northwest to its network of grain storage facilities.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed when Gavilon announced it Thursday.
Union's roughly 100 private shareholders approved the deal Wednesday. The Lind, Wash., based Union owns facilities that can store up to 8.4 million bushels of grain at 12 locations. Most of its shareholders are employees.
Gavilon Vice President Greg Konsor says the acquisition will help the company better serve the wheat export market in the Pacific Northwest. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter.
Gavilon is a commodity trading and grain storage business that ConAgra Foods sold to private investors in 2008. It is based in Omaha, Neb.
