Wenatchee bridge ironworker see lots of pigeons

One of the ironworkers upgrading the George Sellar Bridge in Wenatchee says he's seen raccoons on the bridge and a lot of pigeons.

WENATCHEE, Wash. —

One of the ironworkers upgrading the George Sellar Bridge in Wenatchee says he's seen raccoons on the bridge and a lot of pigeons.

Jared Minnie of Brewster says the birds provide some entertainment on a job that consists of pounding out old rivets and replacing them with new bolts through new sections of steel.

The Wenatchee World reports the work is strengthening the bridge to carry a fifth lane of traffic and a walking-biking lane.

The work began last May and should be finished this spring.
