A team of officers from the Spokane area is investigating Sunday's fatal shooting by a Spokane police officer.
The Spokesman-Review reports relatives identified the man as a 26-year-old father of two. He was shot by officers responding to a report of domestic violence at a north Spokane home.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Troy Briggs said the preliminary investigation determined the man was armed with a knife.
The shooting was the seventh by law enforcement officers in Spokane County since late August and the fifth resulting in a death. The Spokane Investigative Regional Response Team is investigating.
