Democrat Suzan DelBene has conceded to Republican incumbent U.S. Rep Dave Reichert in Washington state's 8th Congressional District.
With about 60 percent of the expected vote counted in unofficial returns Tuesday night, Reichert led DelBene 54 percent to 46 percent.
The 8th District stretches from the suburbs east of Seattle south into rural Pierce County, has never sent a Democrat to the House of Representatives since its inception in 1980. It's a complex swing district that includes some of the state's richest residents, high-tech workers and blue-collar rural communities.
