Seattle Opera achieves balanced budget
Seattle Opera says it expects to have a balanced budget for the fiscal year that ended June 30.
Seattle Opera says it expects to have a balanced budget for the fiscal year that ended June 30.
The $30 million budget for the season included the “Ring” cycle and the world-premiere opera “Amelia,” among others.
The balanced budget was achieved, in part, by cost cuts equaling $2 million through salary freezes, position cuts, ticket revenue that exceeded expectations and money from reserve funds, according to the opera.
The Seattle Opera’s current production is “Tristan und Isolde,” running through Aug. 21.
