Man dies in car-motorcyle crash in northwest SD

A Dupree man died in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle in northwest South Dakota.

LANTRY, S.D. —

A Dupree man died in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle in northwest South Dakota.

The Highway Patrol says a car driven by 63-year-old Kathleen Carlson of Bellevue, Wash., drifted into the wrong lane on U.S. Highway 212 and collided with a motorcycle driven by 61-year-old William Weitzel of Dupree.

Weitzel later died in an Eagle Butte hospital. Carlson and her two passengers were not injured.

The crash happened about 11 a.m. Sunday, three miles west of Lantry.
