Ice cream stop lands murder suspect back in jail

A 79-year-old woman accused in the shooting death of her husband is back in jail after she made a stop for ice cream and groceries on her way home from court.

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. —

A 79-year-old woman accused in the shooting death of her husband is back in jail after she made a stop for ice cream and groceries on her way home from court.

The Kitsap Sun reports Darlene Green is being held on $1 million bail at Kitsap County Jail after violating terms of her release.

After being formally charged on June 22 with second-degree murder, Green was released from jail and ordered to be confined under electronic home monitoring.

She made a stop on the way home from court that day, and Kitsap County Deputy Prosecutor Kelly Montgomery says that stop violated the terms of her release.

Green is charged with shooting her husband, 81-year-old Bill Green.
