Desperate M's return Bradley to cleanup

Milton Bradley is Seattle's cleanup hitter again - for now.

The Associated Press

SEATTLE —

Milton Bradley is Seattle's cleanup hitter again - for now.

Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu returned Bradley to the No. 4 spot in his lineup Tuesday night against Tampa Bay.

Bradley is batting cleanup for the first since April 9, when he was in the middle of a 1-for-22 debut for his eighth team in 10 seasons.

Wakamatsu is desperate for run production. Seattle scored three earned runs in 32 innings while getting swept at home last weekend by Texas.

Wakamatsu says Bradley's potential for power best fits the profile for a cleanup batter within a lineup the manager has called "anemic." But Wakamatsu says if Bradley struggles again in that spot, he'll move him out again.

Bradley entered Tuesday batting .224 with two homers and 12 RBIs.
