Wash Gen Administration director resigning

Washington Department of General Administration Director Linda Bremer says she is resigning, effective April 5.

OLYMPIA, Wash. —

Washington Department of General Administration Director Linda Bremer says she is resigning, effective April 5.

Gov. Chris Gregoire made the announcement Friday, adding that Bremer's deputy chief of staff, Joyce Turner, will take over the agency.

The governor's announcement did not say why Bremer resigned or what she plans next. The Olympian newspaper reports that Bremer sent an e-mail to administration employees saying she is moving on to "the next chapter of my life."

The agency handles state purchases and contracts and maintains its buildings and vehicles.
