A man was killed in a two-car accident early Saturday morning in the 5500 block of Rainier Avenue South.

A man was killed in a two-car accident early Saturday morning in the 5500 block of Rainier Avenue South.

According to Seattle Police, two cars were traveling at high speed south on Rainier.

The driver of the second car later told police he was following the first vehicle, a silver Lexus, because he'd been a victim of a hit and run.

The Lexus crossed the center line and struck another car traveling north. There were two occupants in the Lexus and one person in the second car involved in the accident. All three were taken to Harborview Medical Center. One passenger in the Lexus, a man, later died at the hospital.

The accident closed Rainier Avenue South for several hours.
