A fight over a woman at a house party in Federal Way last week is apparently what led to a double shooting that killed a 17-year-old boy.

Irving O. Plascencia died early on Jan. 17 from a gunshot wound to his torso, according to the King County Medical Examiner's Office.

A second gunshot victim, who suffered a non-life-threatening injury, was expected to survive after undergoing surgery at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Federal Way homicide detectives are still searching for the suspected gunman, 20-year-old Edgar Daniel Sanchez, who goes by the street name "Sharky," according to police. Sanchez, who is Hispanic, is 5-feet-7 and weighs 260 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a pockmarked face. He has a tattoo on his left forearm with the name "Lorena" in cursive.

Sanchez is considered armed and dangerous. He is believed to be driving a black, four-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler Sebring.

"A warrant has been issued for Sanchez and he is still at large," Federal Way Police Lt. John Stieben wrote in an e-mail Thursday.

"The information we are getting seems to indicate it was a disagreement over a woman at the party that served as the impetus for the fight," Stieben wrote.

Federal Way police were called to a house in the 30800 block of 20th Avenue South just before 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 17. Witnesses said a party at the house went late into the night. At some point, an altercation erupted in the yard and shots were fired, police said. The shooting victims ran into the house, and the gunman fled in a car.

Plascencia died at the scene.

Anyone with information about the shooting or Sanchez is asked to call 911 or Federal Way Police Detective Jeff Otto at 253-835-6894.
