SnoCo rules bikini baristas are adult businesses

The Snohomish County Council has passed an ordinance requiring that bikini barista stands with partially nude employees or sexually suggestive signs be licensed as adult entertainment.

The Associated Press

EVERETT, Wash. —

The Snohomish County Council has passed an ordinance requiring that bikini barista stands with partially nude employees or sexually suggestive signs be licensed as adult entertainment.

The ordinance passed Wednesday requires employees and customers to be at least 18. Violators could be shut down as a public nuisance.

The council was responding to complaints from the public about the lack of clothing and lewd behavior visible at some espresso stands.

Councilman Mike Cooper says the ordinance sends a message to business owners they need to be responsible.
