A verdict in the trial of Amanda Knox in the slaying of her British roommate in Perugia, Italy, is expected this afternoon around 3 p.m. Seattle time

The verdict comes after about 11 hours of deliberations.

The aunt of the former University of Washington student is among those waiting for news from the Italian jury deciding her fate.

Janet Huff of West Seattle, told KING-TV she is holding onto her BlackBerry like it's a lifeline.

Huff says she had been in touch with Knox's parents today. They are waiting in Perugia, Italy, as the jury deliberates in their daughter's murder trial.

"We're all on pins and needles," Huff said this afternoon.

Knox and her co-defendant, Raffaele Sollecito of Italy, are charged with murder and sexual assault in the 2007 slaying of Meredith Kercher.
