Hat 'n' Boots are restored. Almost. The final work on the hat began last summer, and Thursday the scaffolding came down. The final orange color will be painted when the weather permits. The Boots were restored in 2005. The 44-foot-wide cowboy hat and pair of 22-foot-high cowboy boots are located at the Oxbow Park on Corson Avenue South in Georgetown. They were moved from their original location at a Texaco gas station on East Marginal Way in 2003. The hat was perched atop a gas station; the boots housed bathrooms.
