The State Board of Health is meeting this week to hold a hearing on sewage tank design rules and to reconsider alternatives to an eye treatment for newborns.
At the meeting Wednesday in Olympia, the board will also discuss several other rules concerning water recreation facilities, HIV counseling and testing and school immunizations.
The infant eye treatment is being reconsidered because of a national shortage of an eye ointment. Proposed amendments would allow health care providers to use other treatment recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.
