Beck brouhaha: Mount Vernon mayor now will grant 5 press passes
There will now be five press passes for the Glenn Beck appearance Saturday in Mount Vernon.
Seattle Times staff reporter
That little brouhaha about there being only one press pass given out to the controversial Glenn Beck appearance Saturday in Mount Vernon, where the mayor will present him with a key to the city?
Never mind.
There will be five press passes, Mayor Bud Norris now says, and he hasn't quite figured out how they will be doled out for the sold-out event.
"Maybe some kind of drawing, maybe we let the media people decide among themselves," says Norris.
He says he initially planned to limit press access because of "the way I interpreted what they (Glenn Beck's representatives) had to say. Something was lost in the translation."
Norris says that a lot about the Glenn Beck appearance, "I think, has been blown out of proportion."
