Central Washington Hospital adds more beds

Central Washington Hospital is starting a $118 million expansion that will add 188,000 square feet of space in a five-story tower.

WENATCHEE, Wash. —

Central Washington Hospital is starting a $118 million expansion that will add 188,000 square feet of space in a five-story tower.

The Wenatchee World reports the hospital completed its bond sale last month after a weak market delayed the sale from the spring.

Construction is expected to take 20 months, with the new tower to be occupied in May 2011.

When completed, the project will add 35 hospital beds for a total capacity of 174, as well as 126 parking spaces.

A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for Aug. 25.
