A hiker was killed when he fell from Rattlesnake Ledge near North Bend.

Officials say the man fell more than 100 feet above Rattlesnake Lake about 12:15 p.m. Saturday. The area is in Iron Horse State Park, in the Cascade foothills southeast of Seattle.

Cathy Decker with King County Search & Rescue told KOMO-TV that the man clambered out onto a viewpoint, then lost his footing and fell.

His woman hiking companion was not hurt.

The identity of the victim, reportedly in his 20s, was not immediately available.
