Courts will help with traffic-ticket fines
More than 100 courts across the state are offering next month to help delinquent drivers pay off traffic-ticket fines and regain their licenses. Many are offering to reduce fees or waive collection-agency penalties.
More than 100 courts across the state are offering next month to help delinquent drivers pay off traffic-ticket fines and regain their licenses. Many are offering to reduce fees or waive collection-agency penalties.
Failure to pay citations can trigger a hold on licenses and prevent them from being renewed. The state Administrative Office of the Courts says the state has 1.5 million "failure to appear" holds on record.
The program will run for 31 days, through May 31, in some jurisdictions. King County, Seattle Municipal Court, Bothell Municipal Court, Pacific Muni and SeaTac Municipal are extending it through June 30.
Those with outstanding tickets or court fines should contact the court where the fines originated.
