Whale's death still a mystery

The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma says a necropsy found no obvious cause of death for the beluga whale Qannik, 8.

Tacoma

The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma says a necropsy found no obvious cause of death for the beluga whale Qannik, 8.

It died Saturday after a two-week illness.

Tests on tissue samples may still reveal the cause of death. The deputy zoo director, John Houck, told The News Tribune of Tacoma an infection was the likely cause.
