Dr. Bernard Harris, the first African American astronaut to walk in space, watches as two Madison Middle School sixth graders, Enya Garcia and Ben Vo, sit on seats that came from a real space shuttle as they watch images of a liftoff on the screen above.

Harris visited the school Friday morning and spoke about his professional experiences and encouraged the students to reach their own personal potential through problem-solving skills they learn in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Seattle is Harris' first stop of his national 2009 "Dream Tour," which will visit numerous cities across America.
