Auburn WA man arrested following fatal accident

A 22-year-old Auburn man who is accused of fleeing from the scene of a fatal accident was arrested today.

Auburn police arrested him at his apartment.

A four-vehicle collision in Auburn at about 12:30 p.m. resulted in the death of a 50-year-old woman and injuries to at least five other people.

Auburn Police Department spokesman Scott Near says the injured included three children who were backseat passengers in a Honda.

The man who was arrested was driving a Buick when he reportedly was involved in a verbal exchange with the male passenger of the Honda in the next lane.

The two cars collided, and the Honda veered into the northbound lane into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Ford Contour and Ford pickup. The 50-year-old woman who was driving the Contour died at the scene.
