NewsvineStudy says Tacoma tidal power not feasible for at least 8 years
The Tacoma electrical utility says it won't be feasible to generate electricity from the Tacoma Narrows tides for at least eight years.
Tacoma Power says a study found the Narrows has tidal power potential but harnessing it will require advanced turbine technology.
The utility says it will look to meeting renewable energy goals by generating electricity from the wind, underground heat or burning wood.
