LYNNWOOD — Police have arrested a 30-year-old Lynnwood man for allegedly stalking Canadian punk pop-singer Avril Lavigne. Lynnwood Police Sgt. Steve Rider said they learned about harassing letters and e-mails sent to the multi-platinum-selling artist last summer when they were contacted by police from Ontario, Canada. Officers traced the letters and e-mails to the Lynnwood man.

Officers armed with an arrest warrant arrested the man at his Bothell employer yesterday. The suspect, booked for investigation of stalking, bailed out of the Lynnwood Jail last night, Rider said.

Rider said officers searched the man's house yesterday afternoon. It wasn't immediately known what was found during the search.

Lavigne, 19, a Grammy-nominee, gave a free concert yesterday to about 4,000 fans at Westfield Shoppingtown Southcenter.
