Rant & Rave: Sharing the Seahawks love
Seattle Times readers on the Seahawks, cellphones and plane passengers.
RAVE To the construction companies and crews who put up Seahawks 12th Man lights and flags on their cranes. I look forward to my dark drive home around South Lake Union because those lights make the night feel magical. And thanks to all the buildings around town with 12th Man lights and flags. Go Seahawks!
RAVE For the Seahawks’ other Willson, Luke, who came to the Christmas party for the Tent City 4 folks in Sammamish and made the day extra-special for the people there. Keep up the good work on and off the field, and I know our Seahawks will go far!
RAVE To the four dance teams and their instructors for putting on a fabulous halftime show at the Seahawks playoff game Jan. 11, 200 of them filling the field with a wonderful display of talent. Thanks for enduring the extreme weather conditions when you were led into the stadium early and had to wait to perform so admirably for us.
RANT AND RAVE Rant to people who were checking their cellphones for football scores and Facebook updates during a movie. Rave to the parents who took the phone from their teenage daughter so that other people could enjoy the movie.
RAVE To the nice young couple who gave up their seats on the South Kirkland bus to me and my wife after the Seahawks game. We would have had to stand otherwise and we’re in our 70s. Go Hawks!
RANT To the driver talking on her cellphone who almost ran over my husband in a crosswalk. He had the walk sign and you knocked the grocery bag out of his hand and didn’t even stop. Get off the phone!
RAVE To the man who paid for my lunch because I was in my EMT uniform. Thanks so much!
RANT To the passenger on a recent flight to Seattle with horrific body odor and dirty clothes. What a stench everyone around you had to endure on a six-hour flight. Note to travelers: please shower and put on clean clothes before flying — it’s good manners.
RAVE To the honest person who turned my sister’s purse in to Sea-Tac Airport baggage claim when she lost it after a frantic day of traveling, and to the airport police who called local hotels until they located us. Hooray for Seattle for not letting our vacation end on a bad note!
