Rave For my siblings, who put aside their differences to support our mother and focus on making her feel comfortable and cared for during her last days before her passing.
Rant To the driver carrying an unsecured load of decking material. I should have called 911 but was too traumatized at almost being killed. Use some common sense, it's the law!
Rave To the Seattle Pothole Hotline, which sent a crew to fix a terribly bumpy section of Genesee Street after I called to complain about it.
Rant and Rave Rant to the person who smashed in the front of our parked Honda Fit in Ballard and took off without leaving a note, leaving us with a hefty bill and no car to get back to Canada for a week while it got fixed. Rave to all the nice people who came up to us as we assessed the damage and offered advice and help. It made a bad situation a bit better and restored our faith in the people of Seattle.
Rave For Kitty Harbor, a nonprofit rehabilitation, adoption facility for cats, for being so helpful and caring taking in a homeless cat in my neighborhood. Great to know he'll be placed in a good home as the cold winter approaches.
Rant To the jerks honking at me while I was changing a flat tire on 405.
Rave To the Washington State Ferries employees for their assistance when my car wouldn't start after we docked. I was totally embarrassed, but they were incredibly polite and patient and got my car started so I could be on my way.
Rant and Rave Rant to the person who hit a tiny dog and drove off without checking to see if he was all right. Rave to the couple who stopped and helped look for the dog while I called animal services. It's nice to know SOME people care about the lives of helpless animals.
Rave To neighbors who create and tend all the delightful little gardens in traffic circles and median strips around our city.
