Monday's 'American Idol' news: Alex outrage, dreads and Dreamgirls

We have a big Idol week ahead. A new stage will be unveiled as we get some Idol-ized Rolling Stones tunes. And I'm especially looking forward to the results show on Wednesday. Ke$ha and Orianthi are on tap to perform. We'll see what kind of sage advice they have for our Top Twelve.

A four-day cooling off period has done nothing to quell the outrage of Alex Lambert fans over his untimely departure from the AI stage. They seem to be the most vocal of the bitter and have enlisted the help of social media to let their voices be heard. The squawking seems to be loudest on Twitter, as a new hashtag (#bringalexback) has cropped up and spawned celeb supporters like Demi Moore and Kimberly Caldwell. But the source of the screeching is a 20-something named Jessica Bongiorno from Baltimore. She has gone so far as to create a petition to Bring Alex Lambert Back to American Idol. I spoke with Jessica this morning and to say she is a spitfire is an understatement. She has been an avid Alex fan from the beginning and as soon as he was voted off, she leaped from her couch and started the petition to bring him back. To that end, Jessica "knows he'll go somewhere" and believes the Idol producers "would be very stupid not to bring him back."

My favorite Idol article du jour is this one... Idol Comparisons. It's easy to guess who they're picking as the season 9 version of Ruben Studdard, but can you guess who they're comparing to Sanjaya Malakar, Ace Young and Kelly Clarkson?

And mark your calendar, because Syesha Mercado is coming to Seattle! She'll be playing the lead role in Dreamgirls which will be playing at the Paramount Theater April 6-11.

Odds on favorite Crystal Bowersox (except for me, I don't think she can or will win) is still trying to mesh with the Idol stylist. Sounds like the hairdo is non-negotiable. "I've had these for about four and a half years now," she said. "They've been around the world with me -- Istanbul, Turkey ... Mexico ... England -- so there's a lot of history here," Bowersox said. "I do wash my hair -- just so everyone knows. There's a lot of myths out there about dreadlocks but they're very clean and well kept." Well then, now you know.

Todrick Hall is making the media rounds and guess which show he's setting his sights on next? GLEE!!!! I kinda love that idea, though I have sort of fallen off the Glee bandwagon and am not anywhere close to caught up on my TiVo backlog. If the stars align and Todrick finds himself roaming the halls of Ohio's McKinley high school, what would his character be like? Gleeks, help me out here. I'm picturing a snarky male cheerleader.
