'American Idol' links roundup; plus, the mystery of Seattle's Danelle Hayes

Posted by Bob Payne

Danelle Hayes of Seattle was shown earning a golden ticket in Tuesday night's episode of "American Idol." But did she really go to Hollywood for the next round?

What's arousing our curiosity? Well, Idol uploads clips of the Hollywood-bound singers after every show, and all of the golden-ticket winners we saw last night are there -- except Danelle. Anybody know what's up? Is it just a temporary mistake on the Web site?

Like I reported last night, the Edgewater Hotel Web site lists her as performing there on Feb. 13.

• I think everybody's still in shock from last night's skin flick, otherwise known as the Denver audition episode.

Well, it turns out my suspicion that "Bikini Boy" was nothing more than a well-orchestrated stunt were correct. Ty Hemmerling works for a Denver radio station.

• Have you heard Danny Gokey's new song? The Season 8 finalist's new album is set to come out in March. Here's the video for "My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me":

Opinions about "Best Days" are mixed here in the office. Yes, it's great that we're hearing his voice again. On the other hand, the title and lyrics and truly pedestrian video all seem lacking. As one of this site's writers said: "Is Kara DioGuardi connected to this?" Ouch.
