GameDay all set on the Washington campus
Nation’s college football fans will be tuned in bright and early
It will be 80 minutes before the sun even rises on Red Square on the University of Washington campus, but the nation’s college football fans will be tuned into a live broadcast from the home of the Huskies on Saturday.
ESPN has constructed its “GameDay” set in front of Suzzallo Library and was doing some preliminary broadcasts Friday afternoon. The excitement will culminate Saturday at 6 a.m. Pacific time when the “GameDay” crew of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and Desmond Howard begins its three-hour broadcast.
Included in that broadcast will be an exclusive live interview with Lane Kiffin, who was fired two weeks ago as the head coach at USC.
A fenced-in area behind the set, called “The Pit,” will open at 4 a.m., and will accommodate about 600 people.
