On the make: Erecting $73 million Lowell-Stevens football facility due for completion next June — offices, meeting rooms, weight room, academic center, etc. — and accompanying 3,500 end zone seats.

On the make: In a year, Washington's $250 million renovation to the south stands at Husky Stadium will be complete, along with a west-end football-ops center and a lower field without a track.
Splashy hires: WSU opened the vault for Mike Leach at $2.25 million a year, roughly double what they've ever paid any previous employee of the school.
On the make: Opening new, three-deck press box (cost: $80 million) with luxury suites, loge boxes and club seating. Regents will vote on a proposed west-end building dedicated to football.
