UW football sets times, TV broadcasts for five games

Game times and TV designations were announced Thursday for five games on Washington's 2012 football schedule, including the Apple Cup, which will start at 12:30 p.m. and will be televised on Fox or FX on Nov. 23, the day after Thanksgiving.

Other UW games given start times and TV assignments:

• The Sept. 1 season opener against San Diego State will start at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.

• The Sept. 15 game against Portland State will kick off at 1 p.m. and be televised on FX.

• The Thursday Sept. 27 game against Stanford will begin at 6 p.m. on ESPN.

• The Friday night Nov. 2 game at California begins at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.

Washington's game Sept. 8 at LSU could be given a start time soon when the SEC announces more of its TV package.

Start times and TV designations for all other UW games will be determined either six or 12 days before kickoff, per the conference's contracts with its various TV partners.

• The Cougars will open their season Thursday, Aug. 30 at Brigham Young at 7:15 p.m. on ESPN. The Cougars host Eastern Washington on Sept. 8 at noon on the Pac-12 Networks and play at UNLV on Friday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
