Jermaine Kearse sets record for UW
After struggling in recent weeks, Kearse sets Husky record for touchdown catches in a game.

With the game on the line, Oregon State looked to Jacquizz Rodgers.
Washington looked to Jermaine Kearse.
When everything was settled in the Huskies' 35-34 victory in two overtimes, Rodgers did what star players must do. He scored four touchdowns.
Kearse also scored four touchdowns, and it was the 6-foot-2 junior receiver, who has struggled with dropped passes recently, who was able to celebrate the victory.
"It was like a roller coaster," said Kearse. "It just showed the heart that our team has to strive to finish."
When the game went to overtime, the Beavers took the lead on Rodgers' touchdown catch.
Then the Huskies looked to Kearse, who caught a 17-yard TD from Jake Locker.
With the Huskies looking for a big play in the second overtime, Locker once again found Kearse, who caught a 21-yard touchdown.
"We knew it was cover zero," Kearse said. "They ran some cover zero in the red zone and coach Sark (UW coach Steve Sarkisian) just called great plays. It worked out perfectly."
Not only did his fourth touchdown catch of the game give Washington the lead, it was also a career high and a school record. Kearse tied the record earlier this season with three touchdown receptions against Syracuse.
Kearse finished the game with nine receptions for 146 yards.
Kearse now is No. 3 on the school's career touchdown reception list.
He gave UW momentum early, scoring the first TD of the game and injecting life into his team with a 45-yard second-quarter grab.
With UW in need of a victory, Kearse made plays.
"I wouldn't say desperate, but we knew it was going to be a big game," Kearse said. "We just came out hard and practiced hard this whole week. Everyone worked their tails off this whole week, and it showed."
After his big night, though, Kearse was already looking forward to getting better.
"I still had two drops," he said. "I'm always just going to try and get better. I'm going to be out there again this week catching extra balls."
