TUCSON, Ariz. — Mark Lyons hit a contested layup with seven seconds left and No. 8 Arizona rallied from a six-point deficit in the final minute to pull out an improbable 65-64 win over No. 5 Florida on Saturday night.

The Wildcats (8-0) used their press to force consecutive turnovers on inbounds plays, pulling to 64-63 after Brandon Ashley made one of two free throws.

Arizona fouled Kenny Boynton, who missed the front end of a one-and-one, then raced to the other end for Lyons' driving shot.

Florida (7-1) botched its final possession, fumbling the ball away before taking a wild three-pointer.

Solomon Hill had 18 points, Nick Johnson added 15 and Lyons 14 to give Arizona its best start since opening the 1998-99 season with eight straight wins.

Doug McDermott had a season-high 34 points, and nine rebounds as Creighton (10-1) downed California.

Justin Cobbs led the Bears (6-3) with 18 points.

At Arizona State 61, Dartmouth 42

Jahii Carson scored 18 points and Arizona State (9-2) used a late second-half run to put away Dartmouth (2-7).

At UCLA 95, Prairie View A&M 53

Shabazz Muhammad scored a career-high 25 points and UCLA (7-3) rolled to a victory over Prairie View A&M (5-6) for its third straight win.

Fellow freshman Kyle Anderson added a career-best 16 points and 11 rebounds.

At Oregon 60, Nebraska 38

Oregon center Tony Woods scored 14 points as the Ducks (9-1) handled Nebraska, improving to 8-0 at home. Dylan Talley led the Cornhuskers (6-3) with 11 points.

At Stanford 75, UC Davis 52

Dwight Powell scored all 20 of his points in the second half in leading Stanford (7-3) past UC Davis (1-6).

At USC 70, UC Riverside 26

Jio Fontan and Eric Wise each scored 14 points and USC (4-6) ended a five-game losing streak with a rout of cold-shooting UC Riverside (2-8) which shot 19 percent from the field and was 1 of 14 from three-point range.
