Freshman safety Lavon Washington has been dismissed from the University of Washington football program for an unspecified violation of team rules, the third player booted from the program since Chris Petersen’s arrival last December.

Washington, a former three-star recruit from McClymonds High in Oakland, was part of Petersen’s first recruiting class in February.

In April, Petersen dismissed cornerback Patrick Enewally, not long after Enewally had punched a teammate, a source said then. Earlier this month Petersen announced that defensive end Marcus Farria had been dismissed from the program after an unknown violation.

UW also announced Saturday that junior tight end Derrick Brown has been suspended indefinitely in a matter unrelated to Lavon Washington’s dismissal. Brown, a former quarterback, has been working as UW’s fourth- or fifth-string tight end in fall camp.
