Freshman Cristian Roldan scored on a header in the 32nd minute, and the Washington men’s soccer team shut out Oregon State 1-0 in a Pac-12 match Monday night at Husky Soccer Stadium.
Roldan scored his first career goal on a throw-in from Michael Harris as the third-ranked Huskies (9-0-3, 2-0-1 Pac-12) stayed unbeaten.
The Beavers (7-5, 0-3) took 10 shots, two on goal, against Huskies goalkeeper Ryan Herman.
•Seattle University earned a 3-1 victory (31-33, 25-19, 25-20, 25-21) over Grand Canyon (7-11, 1-5) in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match at Connolly Center.
Freshman Iris Ivanis, chosen earlier in the day as the WAC Player of the Week, had 19 kills and 11 digs for the Redhawks (8-14, 5-2). Sarah Jaeckel had 14 digs and 13 kills.
• Everett Silvertips defenseman Matt Pufahl has been named the WHL Player of the Week for the week.
• Seattle University women’s soccer’s midfielder Mary Hill has been named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week .
• Gonzaga University junior forward Clark Phillips was chosen the West Coast Conference men’s soccer Player of the Week
