BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar got its third straight complete-game performance as David Carver limited Washington to four hits in a 6-1 college baseball victory on Sunday.

Lamar (7-2) took the final three games of the series after Washington (2-6) won the opener.

The Huskies didn't score against Carver after the first inning, when freshman Braden Bishop led off with a single, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Jayce Ray's single.

UW starter Will Ballowe, a freshman making his first college debut, gave up two runs in 2-1/3 innings and took the loss. Lamar collected 13 hits against four UW pitchers.

Washington begins its home schedule at Husky Ballpark on Friday, when Cal Poly arrives for a three-game weekend series.
