OMAHA, Neb. — Timo Pitter scored the go-ahead goal with 25:06 to play and No. 8 Creighton went on to a 4-2 victory over Washington in the second round of the NCAA men's soccer tournament Sunday at Morrison Stadium.

The No. 21 Huskies finished the season at 13-5-2. Creighton (16-3-2) advances to play at top-ranked Akron on Sunday. Creighton and Akron played to a 1-1 tie Aug. 31 in Omaha.

Pitter's shot from about 25 yards out beat Huskies goalkeeper Spencer Richey to give the Bluejays a 2-1 lead. Creighton also got goals from Andrew Ribeiro and Christian Blandon to take a 4-1 lead.

Dylan Tucker-Gangnes scored in the 88th minute for the Huskies.

Creighton took an early lead just five minutes in as Brent Kallman scored to the left side of the box. Kallman was wide open about 8 yards out and hit the crossbar, which directed the ball into the net.

After a slow UW start in the first half in which Creighton outshot the Huskies 8-3 and took four corners to none, the Huskies came out on fire to start the second half and scored just three minutes into the period.

Michael Harris completed a flip throw which bounced in the box and went in the net off James Moberg's head.
