BERKELEY, Calif. — Washington rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat California in five sets 25-22, 22-25, 16-25, 28-26, 17-15 in a Pac-12 volleyball match Wednesday night.
The Huskies (20-4, 11-4 Pac-12) struggled with the Bears (13-12, 7-8) but managed to earn a season sweep.
UW plays at top-ranked Stanford on Thursday night.
Other volleyball
• Washington State (12-15, 2-13 Pac-12) fell at No. 1 Stanford (23-2, 15-0) by scores of 25-20, 25-21 and 25-15.
Notes
• Emmanuel Amarh of Pacific Lutheran was selected as the Northwest Conference men's soccer Offensive Player of the Year. Whitworth's Kyle Novak was the Defensive Player of the Year.
Sean Bushey of Whitworth was named Coach of the Year.
Also picked to the first team were Chris McDonald and Chris Shaw of Puget Sound, Giancarlo Santoro and Derek Johnson of PLU and Will Wren, Balin Larson, Andrew Flint and Robby Uben of Whitworth.
• Washington's Emi Lawson was named to the Pac-12 women's soccer second team. Isabel Farrell made the all-freshman team. WSU's Brandi Vega, Micaela Castain and Rachael Doyle were named to the second team.
