Rewind | Chat with UW volleyball coach Jim McLauglin & Bianca Rowland

Latest from the Husky Football & Basketball blogs

Jim McLaughlin is in his 11th season as University of Washington volleyball coach and has the Huskies off to another successful start in 2011.

During his time at UW, he has compiled a 251-69 record and has led the Huskies to one national championship, three Final Four appearances and two Pac-10 Conference titles,

McLaughlin began his coaching career with USC and in seven seasons as the men's head coach, he guided the Trojans to the 1990 national championship and a runner-up finish in 1991. He is the only college coach to have won both the men's and women's national championships.

One of his leaders in 2011 is senior Bianca Rowland, a Lynnwood native, who has been a key player in keeping the Huskies a national power.

As a junior she was named an AVCA honorable mention All-American for the second year in a row and earned All-Pac-10 honorable mention.

Rowland was one of the most efficient hitters in the conference and the nation in 2010, hitting .409 for the year, which ranked eighth in the NCAA and third in the Pac-10, that mark is sixth-best for a season in school history. She also set career highs in several categories, including 301 kills and 128 total blocks.

McLaughlin & Rowland talked about the Huskies' outlook for the 2011 season and much more in a live chat on Sept. 6.
