Huskies scheduled to play at USC, will miss UCLA and Arizona State in 2011 Pac-12 football season

In the first Pac-12 football season, Washington will play five of its nine conference games at home. One of the road games will be at USC. The Huskies will play at Utah and will host Colorado. Washington will not play UCLA and Arizona State next season.

Any worry about the impact of the Washington football team missing out on trips to Los Angeles due to the new Pac-12 alignment will have to wait awhile.

The Huskies' revised schedule for the 2011 Pac-12 season, which should officially be approved later this week, has them playing at USC on Nov. 12. The Huskies will play each of the new members of the conference, traveling to Utah and hosting Colorado. They will not play conference foes UCLA and Arizona State.

Washington's nonconference schedule is unchanged.

With the conference split into divisions and a conference title game played the first week of December, UW will play 12 games over 13 weeks.

The Apple Cup will be played Nov. 26, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. That game will be played at Qwest Field as UW will move out of Husky Stadium a few weeks early to get started with the renovation of the stadium.

The Huskies' final game in the old Husky Stadium will now be Nov. 5 against Oregon.

Washington will be in the North Division with WSU, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford and California. The Huskies will play each of those teams each season and four of the six in the South Division.

However, Stanford and Cal will play USC and UCLA each season, meaning that the other North teams will play UCLA and USC less often. Some have wondered if less exposure to the two L.A. schools might impact recruiting in Southern California, a key area for talent for all the conference schools.
