Beau Bridges and his wife, Wendy, have sold their longtime home in a gated community in Hidden Hills, Calif., for $2.4 million — twice what they originally paid.

The sale was a while in the making, however. They first listed the English-style country house in 2010 at $3.25 million and later turned to leasing.

An atrium breakfast room takes in the views of mature trees. French doors open off the dining room to a patio. A spiral staircase leads to a loft space.

The 1-plus-acre yard includes a swimming pool with a spa, a tennis court, fruit trees and a greenhouse.

The Emmy-winning Bridges, 72, was in the 1989 film “The Fabulous Baker Boys” that was set in Seattle. He also will be in the films “Underdogs,” “Tumbledown” and “San Patricios,” all due for release this year. He has starred on the series “The Millers” since last year.
