Ferry officials are urging travelers on the Bainbridge Island-Seattle run to change their plans because of expected crowding.
The biotechnology giant, based in Thousand Oaks, Calif., said planned job cuts companywide will amount to more than 2,400 people. It employs about 710 locally.
