EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips fell into a three-goal hole in the first period and could not come all the way back, losing to the Kelowna Rockets 3-2 in a Western Hockey League game Sunday evening.
Everett scored both of its goals in the second period on shots by Ty Mappin and Manraj Hayer.
The Rockets outshot the Silvertips 29-25, and they had a 14-8 advantage in the decisive first period.
