BUFFALO, N.Y. — Peter Mueller, a former standout for the Western Hockey League Everett Silvertips, is making the most of his opportunity with the NHL Florida Panthers.

Mueller scored a goal for a fourth consecutive game — a personal best — to help the Panthers beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-3 Sunday.

Brian Campbell got the winning goal on a power play with 10:33 left.

Mueller played for the Phoenix Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche before a concussion caused him to miss 140 games, including the 2010-11 season. The Avalanche didn't re-sign him.

Florida signed Mueller, 24, to a one-year, $1.725 million contract.

"My goal, just coming into the season, was play (all) 48 games," Minnesota native Mueller said Saturday. "If I could do that and play hard each and every shift, help my team, I'll be happy."

Mueller helped the Panthers when his goal on a rebound late in the second period Sunday tied the score at 3.

"I was just fortunate it was on my stick at the time," Mueller said. "I'm happy for the goal, but more happy for the win."
