The 2010-11 WHL season recently got under way and the Seattle Thunderbirds will be looking to return to the playoffs for the sixth time in seven years after missing out in the 2009-10 campaign.
Rob Sumner is back for his seventh season as head coach and 14th overall with the team and will rely on star goaltender Calvin Pickard to help lead the T-birds' turnaround.
Despite a 16-34-7-5 record last season, Pickard had an exceptional .907 save percentage (including two games with 50 or more saves) and was drafted in the second round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche.
Sumner and Pickard talked about the team's outlook for the new season and much more on Sept. 28.
