Ballard football

It was many happy returns for Williams on Saturday as he keyed a 28-21 victory over Kennedy Catholic. He got the Beavers on the board with a 99-yard kickoff return for a TD, and the versatile senior later added the game-winner with a 55-yard pick-six.

Amber Rose

Inglemoor cross country

Rose, a junior, outran 260 competitors to win the top girls race at the Seaside 3 Course Challenge Saturday in Oregon. She finished in 23:14, cutting nearly three minutes off the time she recorded the year before, when she placed 19th.

Auburn-Riverside football team

Coming off a 1-9 campaign, the Ravens were picked to finish seventh in the SPSL 4A North. But under new head coach Bryant Thomas, they improved to 3-0 Friday with an impressive, 49-35 victory over Tahoma, one of preseason favorites.
