YAKIMA — Daylee Hanson banked in a driving basket with 2 seconds remaining to give King's a 41-40 win over defending state champ Okanogan in the Class 1A state girls basketball tournament on Thursday.

Keanna Egbert had given Okanogan (20-7) a one-point lead against King's with a layup with 1:29 to play.

In the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Yakima SunDome, the Knights (18-8) from Shoreline will face Brewster (24-1), a 61-56 winner over Lynden Christian. Castle Rock faces Chelan in the other semifinal.

Hanson led King's with 14 points and five steals. Kendall Adams and Anna Parker each scored eight and Adams also had nine rebounds.

Other 1A game

Chelan 51, Cascade Christian 24

Abby Phelps poured in a game-high 24 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Goats (20-5) past the Cougars (21-2) from Puyallup. Phelps scored 20 of her points in the first half as Chelan raced to a 26-12 halftime lead. She made 10 of 17 shots. Phelps and Courtney Dietrich each pulled down 16 rebounds as Chelan out rebounded the Cougars 54-33.

Class 2A

Renton 38, Wapato 34

At the Yakima SunDome, Jordan Armstrong scored 13 of her game-high 16 points in the first half as Renton pulled out to an early lead before holding off a Wapato comeback bid.

The unranked Indians (21-4) play W.F. West of Chehalis in the semifinals at 7:15 p.m. Friday.

Armstrong hit 6 of 14 shots in the first half, when Renton pulled out to a 21-11 lead. Wapato (21-3) rallied but couldn't get closer than the final margin. The Wolves shot just 18 percent (5 of 28) in the first half.

W.F. West 36, Cedarcrest 18

Cedarcrest shooters went ice cold in their first trip to the girls state tournament as the second-ranked Bearcats (21-4) from Chehalis rolled to the semifinals.

The sixth-ranked Wolves (20-4) from Duvall managed only six points by halftime and didn't warm up much in the second half. Cedarcrest plays a loser-out game against Wapato at 12:15 p.m. Friday.

Class 1B

Wilbur-Creston 55, Shoreline Christian 52

At Spokane Arena, Sarah Ott's three-point attempt for the Crusaders (18-9) at the buzzer was off the mark as Wilbur-Creston (21-4) advanced to the semifinals. Ott had a game-high 32 points for Shoreline Christian. Abby T. DeKoekkoek of the Crusaders missed an open baseline jumper with 11.8 seconds left that would have knotted the game at 54.
