SPOKANE — University banked in a long two-pointer at the buzzer in regulation, then pulled away to beat Holy Names in overtime, 55-52, in the Class 3A girls basketball regionals Friday night.

The Titans (14-10), playing on their home floor, advanced to next week's state tournament at the Tacoma Dome. The defeat ended the season for the Cougars (20-7) from Seattle.

Holy Names led by eight going into the fourth quarter. The Cougars were still ahead, 45-43, and had the ball in the final seconds of regulation. But after a University foul, the Titans rebounded a missed free throw by the Cougars, fired a long pass downcourt and scored as the horn sounded to force OT.

Holy Names sophomore Camariah King scored 22 points, one off her season high. She hit four three-pointers. Sophomore teammate Janessa Willie added 11 points, including three three-pointers, for the Cougars.

Senior guard Kayleigh Valley scored 24 for University.
