Curtis claims another district title | Boys Basketball

KENT — Dominic Robinson scored 19 points to lead sixth-ranked Curtis High School to a third straight West Central District 4A boys basketball championship with a 53-29 victory over No. 8 Bellarmine Prep Monday night at the ShoWare Center.

Robinson, a senior guard, keyed a 17-0 run in the first quarter that put the Vikings in control.

Curtis (23-2), which has captured seven district titles since 1982, plays Jefferson (15-10) in the regional round Saturday. Bellarmine (16-8) faces No. 10 Arlington (20-3).

3A title game

Lincoln 51, Timberline 50

Tre-Shaun Fletcher, a 6-7 senior who has signed with Colorado, came up big on both ends of the court for the third-ranked Abes (20-3). He made one of two free throws with 18.7 seconds remaining to break a 50-all tie, then blocked Brandell Evans' shot with time running out. Fletcher finished with 21 points. Donaven Dorsey, a 6-6 junior, had 25 for the Blazers (15-9), who face No. 4 Mercer Island in the regional round on Saturday.

2A title game

Clover Park 60, Sequim 45

David Crisp exploded for six of his 26 points in a 90-second span of the fourth quarter as the fifth-ranked Warriors (19-6) finally started to pull away from the stubborn Wolves, opening up a 49-32 lead. It's their second district title in three years. No. 7 Sequim (20-4) got 22 points from Jason Brocklesby, including 11 in the final quarter.
