Nick Mitchell
Mount Si football
Mitchell, a junior quarterback, had a hand in all five touchdowns as the Wildcats beat Kennedy Catholic 38-7 in the Class 3A state quarterfinals. He completed 20 of 31 passes for 232 yards and four TDs and ran for a 2-yard score. Mitchell has 32 TD passes and five interceptions.
Jill Leszynski
Bear Creek soccer
Leszynski, a freshman midfielder, scored two goals and assisted on another as the Grizzlies beat Crosspoint Academy 4-0 in the 2B/1B semifinals. She added another assist in a 4-0 victory over Napavine for the Redmond school's second consecutive state championship.
Skyline girls soccer team
Coach Don Braman's Spartans knocked off nationally ranked Tahoma 2-1 in the 4A state semifinals before blanking Issaquah 1-0 to capture their second consecutive state championship and fourth in five years.
